Their names are Ernestine, Marta, Léa, Andrée, Nora, to name a few... 

"The Black Collars" is an ongoing project and a growing collection of portraits. I find old beautiful vintage frames and paint women, all named after women in my french and swedish families. Some I never new and some I live with. With a subtile halo, these women are called the Black Collars, as opposed to "white ones".
Maybe to encourage disobedience…

Some of them travelled to Barcelona this September to be shown at NoHo Gallery for a group exhibition "Reflection of Intent". 13th Sept - 4th Oct.
